The SamShield XJ Hat is made with a pure carbon fibre external shell that offers unbeatable strength and weight ratio. This hat has been designed to meet active and passive safety requirements for extreme disciplines.

The internal polystyrene shell provides a better dissipation of energy on impact. The removable internal comfort foam liner has ‘memory shape’ to it ensuring a constant thickness over years of use, easily removable with a strong clip system. It also eliminates the risk of the hat tipping during violent movement.

Two front air inlets channel fresh air through the vents and expels the hot air towards the back extractors keeping your head cool and comfortable throughout wear.

SamShield offers the Shadowglossy 2.0 in four shell sizes. You can pair each shell with a range of liner sizes to achieve a tailored fit. This system suits growing riders and extends the lifespan of the hat.

You can customise the SamShield 2.0 Hat in almost endless ways. Create a design that reflects your personal style and stands out in the arena.

Sustainable Choice

By reinventing your helmet rather than replacing it, you are contributing to a responsible and sustainable approach, while affirming your style and high standards.

    1. Cleaning the Exterior

Use a soft cloth: Clean the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dirt and dust without damaging the helmet. Avoid harsh cleaners: Do not use aggressive cleaning products, chemicals, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the helmet's coating or surface.

Do not dry the helmet in direct sunlight as this may deform the materials.

       2.  Cleaning the Interior

Carefully remove the liner and hand wash it with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Let the helmet air out well after use to prevent moisture or odors.

       3.Maintaining the Liner

Regularly inspect the liner. Replace it if it becomes damaged or loses its firmness, as this affects fit and safety.

       4. Inspecting the Strap

Check the chin strap for wear and proper fit. If damaged, send the helmet back to Ridershouse for repair by Samshield. Repairs take approximately 2–4 weeks.

       5. Storage

Store the helmet in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Use the helmet bag when not in use to keep it clean and protected.

       6. Protection from Impact

Be gentle with your helmet: avoid dropping or bumping it. Even invisible internal damage can reduce its protective effectiveness.

By properly maintaining your Samshield helmet, you extend its lifespan and ensure your safety while riding.

Measuring head size

Circle the largest part of the skull with a soft tape measure.

If measuring around long hair, tie the hair with a low-pony tail: this allows for correct measurement and reduces rotation when the helmet is worn.

Determine the shell that you need to choose considering size grid below:

For XJ Hats:

Which Shell & Liner Size To Use
Shell = Medium 53 54 55 56 57 (M) 58 (M)
Shell = Large 57 (L) 58 (L) 59 60 61

Please note: 57 & 58 can be used in the M shell as well as the L shell depending on head shape. This will depend on head shape. If you are on the larger side of 58 then we recommend going for the large shell.

NOTE: The Hat can take either the Open or Closed fronted liners. The choice of liner is down to personal preference. You will be given the option to choose upon adding this item to your basket.

Fitting Information

Always adjust and close the chin strap before you make any fitting movement tests.

If you feel that the helmet is too large or too small you can then adjust with a thicker or thinner comfort liner (please contact us and we can provide the correct liner in exchange).

If you have purchased an Open liner but do not like the “loose” feeling then do not hesitate to try a Closed liner, as this gives a snugger feeling. Again, this is personal preference, some people prefer the Open Liners and some the Closed Liners.
