Frequently Asked Questions

Fairfax & Favor tassels are easily changed by unscrewing the back of the tassel off the stud, removing from the D-ring, then repeating in reverse with your new colour!

Here is a step-by-step-guide to changing your Fairfax and Favor tassels:

  • First unscrew the rear screw-stud (At the head of the tassel).
  • Remove the back.
  • Slip the tab of the new tassel through the D-ring of the boot or out of the D-Ring.
  • Bring the rear tab to meet the tassel.
  • Slip the screw-back into the hole provided.
  • Tighten.

Make sure to screw to the point of finger tight to ensure the rear doesn’t knock and loosen during wear.

Whilst Suede & Nubuck Protector can be used on the haircalf, we recommend spot-testing first as the protector can be drawn in the individual hair fibres and make it appear darker.

Haircalf is a natural material, so some shedding of the hair may occur over time as a natural characteristic of the material – this shedding can and will be accelerated through regular friction or rubbing against other materials.

Cleaning suede and nubuck

Remove dried dirt or marked fibres using a soft suede brush, brushing in the direction of the suede.

If it’s still dirty, use Liquiproof Eco Cleaner on light marks but dilute it heavily in warm water. If your tassels get wet, leave them to dry naturally and brush.

If anything else gets onto your boots (like a wine glass accident), soak it up immediately and then wipe over with a lightly damp, neutral-coloured microfibre cloth.

Please Note: Suede should never be put in the washing machine.
