The Samshield Shadowmatt 2.0 Riding Hat delivers advanced protection, superior comfort, and customisable fit with optimised airflow for modern riders.
Product Info
The SamShield Shadowmatt 2.0 Riding Hat reflects four years of dedicated research and design. SamShield developed it to meet the demands of modern riders. It delivers a precise fit, exceptional comfort, and optimised airflow. The hat also meets current safety standards and offers high levels of protection in the event of a fall.
The Shadowmatt 2.0 builds on the success of the original Shadowmatt range with this updated model. The outer shell uses strong polycarbonate, a material trusted in high-end motorcycle helmets. A scratch-resistant finish keeps the hat looking smart over time. Inside, a variable-density polystyrene liner absorbs and disperses impact energy more effectively.
A six-point ventilation system keeps air moving through the helmet. This design helps regulate temperature and keeps your head cool, even during intense training or competition.
The integrated chinstrap secures the hat firmly in place. It adapts to different hairstyles, including a dressage bun. Its semi-rigid structure also prevents the hat from tipping forward during sudden movement.
The removable inner liner uses shape-memory material to maintain consistent thickness. You can easily clip it in and out for cleaning. This makes it simple to keep the hat fresh and comfortable. You can also swap in a spare liner while washing.
Samshield offers the Shadowmatt 2.0 in four shell sizes. You can pair each shell with a range of liner sizes to achieve a tailored fit. This system suits growing riders and extends the lifespan of the hat.
You can customise the Samshield 2.0 Hat in almost endless ways. Create a design that reflects your personal style and stands out in the arena.

1. Cleaning the Exterior
Use a soft cloth: Clean the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dirt and dust without damaging the helmet. Avoid harsh cleaners: Do not use aggressive cleaning products, chemicals, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the helmet's coating or surface.
Do not dry the helmet in direct sunlight as this may deform the materials.
2. Cleaning the Interior
Carefully remove the liner and hand wash it with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Let the helmet air out well after use to prevent moisture or odors.
3.Maintaining the Liner
Regularly inspect the liner. Replace it if it becomes damaged or loses its firmness, as this affects fit and safety.
4. Inspecting the Strap
Check the chin strap for wear and proper fit. If damaged, send the helmet back to Ridershouse for repair by Samshield. Repairs take approximately 2–4 weeks.
5. Storage
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Use the helmet bag when not in use to keep it clean and protected.
6. Protection from Impact
Be gentle with your helmet: avoid dropping or bumping it. Even invisible internal damage can reduce its protective effectiveness.
By properly maintaining your Samshield helmet, you extend its lifespan and ensure your safety while riding.
Measuring head size
Circle the largest part of the skull with a soft tape measure.
If measuring around long hair, tie the hair with a low-pony tail: this allows for correct measurement and reduces rotation when the helmet is worn.
Determine the shell that you need to choose considering size grid below:
| Shell | Small | Medium | Large | X-Large | ||||||||||||||
| Liner | 52cm S | 53cm S | 54cm S | 55cm S | 56cm S | 55cm M | 56cm M | 57cm M | 58cm M | 57cm L | 58cm L | 59cm L | 60cm L | 61cm L | 61cm XL | 62cm XL | 63cm XL | 64cm XL |
Please note: certain sizes cross over and can be used in two shell sizes depending on head shape. This will depend on head shape. If you are on the larger side of a size then we recommend going for the larger shell.
NOTE: The Hat can take either the Open or Closed fronted liners. The choice of liner is down to personal preference. You will be given the option to choose upon adding this item to your basket.
Fitting Information
Always adjust and close the chin strap before you make any fitting movement tests.
If you feel that the helmet is too large or too small you can then adjust with a thicker or thinner comfort liner (please contact us and we can provide the correct liner in exchange).
If you have purchased an Open liner but do not like the “loose” feeling then do not hesitate to try a Closed liner, as this gives a snugger feeling. Again, this is personal preference, some people prefer the Open Liners and some the Closed Liners.
