What to Wear to Badminton Horse Trials

The long-awaited Badminton Horse Trials is just around the corner, with spectators traveling far and wide to attend.

Here at Wadswick (only 30 minutes down the road from Badminton!), we have put together a few outfit choices that are comfortable, stylish, and all-weatherproof (we know how unpredictable British weather can be!). 

Badminton Horse Trials is one of the most prestigious equestrian events of the year, with over 500 trade stands (one of the many highlights) and a five-star course, which is a rarity in the UK (the highest level of eventing).

What makes Badminton a five-star is the size of the fences and the technicality of each phase. The maximum height for the show jumping phase is 1.30m and the cross-country course is not far behind with fences going up to 1.20m with various technical challenges along the way.

The cross-country phase is the pinnacle of the event and is a must-see to view the ginormous fences designed by this year’s course designer, Eric Winter (you’ll be glad you’re on the ground not on a horse!).

With the terrain in mind, it is vital that you wear reliable and comfy footwear when walking from fence to fence.
