Top Tips for Setting Up Electric Fencing for Horses
Tape or Rope
Use high-quality tape or rope to improve conductivity. Choose a colour that horses can easily see.
Energizer
Choose an energizer with enough power to deliver a noticeable shock.
Power source
Power electric fencing with either a battery or mains supply. Make sure the energiser is compatible with the power supply used.
Posts
You can use permanent posts and insulators or temporary plastic posts. Depending on horse behaviour you may wish to use 2 or even 3 strands of tape or rope. Furthermore, posts must be spaced adequately to provide tension on the tape or rope used.
