Based on the same formula as Carr & Day & Martin’s favourite fly spray, the new Gel allows you to apply by hand or sponge for greater coverage.
The concentrated application of gel contains 10% DEET for optimal, long lasting protection for a more accurate and alternative application ideal for faces and, ‘spray nervous’ horses.
Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
Application
Apply directly onto the area that requires protection from flies. Simply squirt out the gel and spread a thin layer onto the horse or apply with a cloth.

How often should you apply Flygard Gel?
We recommend application every 12 hours and more regularly if the horse is exposed to heavy rain or excessive sweating. External factors such as temperature, fly type and numbers should also be factored in.
Is there a withdrawal period before competing?
No, the active ingredient DEET (N, N-diethylmeta-toluamide) is not on the banned or controlled list of prohibited ingredients published by they FEI.
Where can I use Flygard Gel?
For external use only! Great to use on areas hard to treat with sprays such as the face and underneath the horse. The perfect solution for spray nervous horses.
How do I apply Flygard Gel?
Apply a thin layer on to the horse, using your hand (gloves should be worn if prone to sensitive skin) or a cloth. Avoid getting the gel in the eyes and mouth.
Is Flygard Extra Strength Gel suitable for sensitive skin?
Every horse is different, some more sensitive than others to certain ingredients. Therefore we advise to do a patch test 24 hours before use.
What fly repellent has the strongest protection?
When looking at the active ingredients, the higher the % will provide longer lasting protection.
How do I know which is the best fly repellent?
Finding the right fly repellent for your horse is trial and error. Ingredients and personal preference may are a factor and also how they work against different flies, in different areas on different horses.
DEET and Citriodiol are approved ingredients and are proven to be effective against a range of biting, flying insects.
